Dirk Hartog Island (approximately 395 nautical miles from Fremantle) was discovered in 1616 by Captain Dirk Hartog on board the Eendracht. This island has a rich pearling, guano mining and pastoral history dating back to the early 1800s.
Dirk Hartog Island is in the World Heritage area of Shark Bay and has always been known for its amazing scenery and world renowned fishing locations. If organised early enough, Silverado Charters can also arrange 4x4 island tours to see things from a different angle, so if this interests you, please talk to Captain Ash.
Silverado will also visit Steep Point, Shelter Bay and the Zuytdorp Cliffs given the right weather conditions.
