… steaming north we cruise past the stunning Cape Leveque before heading east into the Silica Beach, Crocodile Creek (fresh water swimming hole and waterfall), Koolan and Cockatoo Islands, Horizontal Falls (bookings needed for boat rides), Montgomery Reef, Steep Point and Red Cone Creek (where you will swim in fresh water and shower under waterfalls). Mud crabbing is also possible in the Red Cone Creek area but is very tide dependent.

Travel dates

For all trips: boarding in the afternoon, evening departure

Trip 1     Friday 27 July to Saturday 4 August (steam into Broome in the evening stay on-board, depart Sunday morning)

Trip 2     Friday 10 August to Saturday 18 August

Trip 3     Friday 24 August to Saturday 1 September

Trip 4     Friday 7 September to Saturday 15 September

Trip 5     Friday 21 September to Saturday 29 September

Trip 6     Friday 5 October to Saturday 13 October

Trip Schedule

Day 1 – Saturday: morning arrival at Silica Beach (approx 8.30am arrival, Flood tide). Lunch on board possible heading for fishing spot near Koolan Island. Also possible Crocodile Creek near the flood tide or fishing, find an anchor point south of Koolan Island anchor for the night.

Day 2 – Sunday: Possible steam to Crocodile Creek, arrive approx. 8.30am. Swim at Croc Creek on flood tide, leaving at approx 10.30am. Depart Crocodile Creek for Horizontal Falls (two hours steaming). Arrive 12.30 at Horizontal Falls, anchor. Lunch, sightseeing, fishing and Horizontal Falls. Top of the tide *price on application for helicopter experience. Depart Horizontal Falls on ebb tide (after lunch). Steam to Kingfisher Island and anchor (2.5 hours steaming). Other potential anchorage is Talbot Bay.

Day 3 – Monday: Depart Kingfisher Island or Talbot Bay at 8.00am for Montgomery Reef (1.5 - 2.5 hours steaming). Anchor at Montgomery Reef, dinghy into reef to witness flooding of Montgomery Reef, abundant birdlife, turtles etc... 12.00noon depart for Steep Island (1 hour steaming), ebb tide. Anchor at Steep Island near to mangroves. Dinghy ride to shore, dropped off to trek and climb to Aboriginal artworks (approx 2 hours). *dinghies can't be left on shore so guests will be dropped off and picked up. Also possible mud crabbing here.

Day 4 – Tuesday: morning steam to Red Cone Creek (incoming tide), options – if we arrive early enough set nets for mud crabs or dinghy to Ruby Falls for fresh water swimming (dependent on weather and tides), crabbing, fishing or swimming. Stay at Red Cone Creek for the night.

Wednesday: Second day option exploring other areas of Red Cone Creek crabbing, fishing, sightseeing or swimming if clients want to stay?

Day 5 – Wednesday Early Start to Sheep Island and Camden Sound and Doubtful bay area. Lots of whales, Dolphins in this area, Breeding ground for marine mammals. Go ashore and see the first European settlement in this area from the 1800s. Anchor at Sheep Island for the night.

Day 6 – Thursday Early Start leaving Sheep Island for the Prince Regent River, timing the tide for a flooding in and enjoying the magnificent scenery on the way in. Aiming to be at the breathtaking Kings Cascades on the Flood Tide (Note Silverado only has limited time here as it dries out on the low tide). Anchor for the night in safe anchorage further down river.

Friday or Saturday: Possible second day exploring Cathedral falls and other falls near Kings Cascade. Also look at exploring the Camp Creek area Billabongs and waterfalls. On the falling tide leave the Prince Regent River, Anchoring near the mouth, but if time allows heading for Careening Bay for the night.

Day 8 – Friday Awake at or close to Careening Bay in the Prince Frederick Harbor area, (Site where HMAS Mermaid Careened herself on the beach for repairs to the hull). Visit the famous Boab tree.

Day – 9 Saturday leaving Careening Bay and heading through Prince Frederick Harbor which has incredible scenery, Crocodiles, White-bellied Eagles and an array of other wildlife. Heading to the Hunter River which has a scenic and anchorage and white beach. We can explore the beaches and waterfalls in area during the day. (Note we could also organise to book travel out around 1-2pm also)

Day – 10 Sunday Breakfast on Silverado looking to Book travel out around 9-10am, or possible half day excursion.

Note: Daily activities may change slightly pending on tide movements and guests' wishes if on a whole boat charter.
